HOW TO REPORT A CYBERCRIME The Australian Federal Police's (AFP) Australian High Tech Crime Centre (AHTCC) is responsible for investigating both crimes committed through computer systems such as unauthorised intrusion or denial-of-service, as well as more traditional crimes in which computers play a significant role. Alternatively you can report a computer security incident to the AusCERT National IT Incident Reporting Scheme. The Scheme provides a confidential and secure mechanism to report computer security attacks or incidents affecting Australian-based networks or systems to AusCERT. The purpose of the scheme is to collect and analyse reports about computer security incidents affecting Australian computer and information networks. AusCERT uses these reports to better inform the Australian public about computer network attack activity, threats and trends and protection strategies.
